Kotunik
The KOTUNIK mask was a carnival mask made after the figure of BOBUNIK (the summoner of the sun), which was a ritual mask. BOBUNIK was calling for light - the sun. The carnival mask differed from the original in the apron and headdress. A boilermaker from the village of Kuščarji made an eye mask for this character.
(narration by Jože Čančar from Volčanski Rut and Štefan Dugar from Vogrinki)
Motif based on a drawing in the book FROM THE INVISIBLE SIDE OF THE SKY by Pavel Medvešček.
